Lasers
- CFS_MWL / CFS_MWL_RF (Confederation Fighter Scaled Microwave Rapid Fire Laser [and rapid fire variant])
- Confederation standard laser, scaled for high-end strike craft or highest-end point-defense emplacements.
- Manufacturer: Various military contractors throughout Confederation. Original design produced by Mechanists.
- Primary users: Confederation Military
- Civilian availability: Uncommon. While produced in sufficient quantities that there are both surplus sales and "losses" the internal bay requirements can be daunting for fighter craft. When seen on civilian craft, it is usually seen on hot-rodded high-end bounty hunter strike craft or as a primary defensive weapon on much larger cargo vessels.
- Damage vector: Coherent EM (Microwave)
- Secondary damage effects: Temporary reduction in target's sensory values, inductive heating effects.
- Badass factor: Low. This is a mass produced bread & butter weapon that's valued as much for its softening of the enemies senses and defenses as for outright damage output. Range, as per all lasers, is good though. Can be fired in atmosphere.
- Ammunition: None. Reactor fed.
- Mount type(s): Emitter: Modular. Generator: Modular - Confederation Heavy internal weapons bay
- Variants/upgrades: Rapid fire model trades beam duration for frequency of firing
- Notes:
- Sales text: Microwave laser: Caution -- do not stand in front of laser when attempting to defrost chickens.

- CFS_IRL / CFS_IRL_RF (Confederation Fighter Scaled InfraRed Rapid Fire Laser [and rapid fire variant])
- Confederation standard laser, scaled for highest-end strike craft or as a smaller weapon on much larger craft
- Manufacturer: Various military contractors throughout Confederation. Original design produced by Mechanists
- Primary users: Confederation Military
- Civilian availability: Rare. This weapon is far too big to fit in most standard fighter mount points, and too effective to be frequently "lost"
- Damage vector: Coherent EM (Infrared)
- Secondary damage effects: direct heating effects
- Badass factor: Medium. What this weapon lacks in raw damage output, it makes up for in range.
- Ammunition: None. Reactor fed
- Mount type(s): Emitter: Modular - Strikecraft/Largest or Vessel/light
- Variants/upgrades: Rapid fire model trades beam duration for frequency of firing
- Notes:
- Sales text: Infrared laser: When using for grilling, please refrain from putting hands, feet, or population centers in front of the lasing surface.

- Hoplon APd3
- Aeran point defense laser.
- Manufacturer: Guardians of Industry (Aera)
- Primary users: Aeran sub-capital and capital vessels. Aeran merchant craft.
- Civilian availability: Rare. Long term ubiquitous usage by the Aeran Merchant marine means that a more than a fair bit of salvageable models have been obtained over the last few decades, even if none are for sale by the Aerans themselves.

- Aeran strike craft laser.
- Manufacturer: Guardians of Industry (Aera)
- Primary users:
- Civilian availability: Black market only. This is the laser of choice for the current generation of Aeran strike craft. If it wasn't salvaged or stolen, there's no way that the Aera would willingly part with it.

- Jackhammer
- Open-cycle cooled civilian manufactured laser.
- Manufacturer: Luxury Travel Conglomerate (Highborn)
- Primary users: Bounty hunters, mercenaries, private security forces
- Civilian availability: Uncommon. The LTC will sell to almost anyone, but the pricing limits the sizes of on-hand stock that vendors are willing to keep around.
- Damage vector: Coherent EM (Visible spectrum)
- Secondary damage effects: Optical flash
- Badass factor: High. This weapon can fire faster than any comparably classed military laser currently in use, and packs a real wallop. Of course, unlike any military lasers currently in use, you're going to run out of large, massive, expensive ammo very, very quickly. Likewise, the price tag makes the price/performance rating for this sufficiently low that it's easy to understand why the military forces use the lasers that they do.
- Ammunition: Coolant packages
- Mount type(s): Modular generator-emmitter package. Fighter-heavy external, spinal-external. Straight-line mount.
- Variants/upgrades: Pump modifications can allow you to fire even faster, for the cost of increased coolant wastage per shot (Effective decrease in ammo carrying capacity). Secondary cooling channel modifications can allow you to sufficiently tap the main craft's cooling systems to fire at greatly reduced rate once normal ammunition supplies have been exhausted.
- Notes: This is an open-cycle cooling laser, venting its super-heated coolant liquid after every shot. Thus, it MUST be mounted in such a way that there is somewhere for that coolant to go to. (No internal mounts)
- Sales text: The Jackhammer is an open-cycle laser, venting its coolant after every firing sequence. While this does wonders for the size and complexity of the cooling system, it does raise ammunition capacity issues not frequently associated with modern lasers.
- Approximate size:
- Visual description: Roughly cylindrical, with emitter parabolic on the business end and mechanical pumping equipment on the opposite end. As much plumbing as laser, the external nature of this weapon means its one of the more often seen laser generators, actual commonality notwithstanding. The sides of the cylinder are completely covered with insulation, pumps, and coolant circulation piping, except where there are ridges running the length of the cylinder. These ridges originate at the pump and run almost to the emitter. They are present only on the 1/3 of the cylinder's surface facing away from clamping connections (and presumably the bulk of the vessel), and there are 6 of them in total. Each ridge is almost as tall as the radius of the cylinder, narrower at the base than the top. The top of each ridge has numerous vents through which the coolant can be ejected.
- CCS_UVL (Confederation Capital Scaled Ultra-Violet Laser)
- Confederation standard laser designed for lighter mounts and turrets on capital vessels, and primary mounts on sub-capital vessels.
- Manufacturer: Various military contractors throughout Confederation. Original design produced by Mechanists.
- Primary users: Confederation Military forces - sub-capital vessels and larger
- Civilian availability: Black market only.
- Damage vector: Coherent EM (UV spectrum)
- Secondary damage effects: None
- Badass factor: High. While the fighter scale Confederation lasers are designed as much to harass, impede, and pick off external systems at range as to do raw damage, this weapon is a straight up bruiser. It's a big weapon, and mounting it on a strike craft is utterly impractical, except for craft blurring the lines between strike craft and corvettes in scale.
- Ammunition: None. Reactor fed.
- Mount type(s): Custom in-line, emitter+generator bundles. Modular turrets - when turreted, entire generator+emitter package is turreted.
- Variants/upgrades:
- Notes:
- Sales text: UV Laser. Unlike most exposures to UV light, taking in these rays decreases the risk of dying from skin cancer.

- Visual description:
- CCS_XRL (Confederation Capital Scaled X-Ray Laser)
- Confederation high-end laser. Designed for custom heavy mounts and custom heavy turrets in larger capital vessels.
- Manufacturer: Mechanist Heavy Construction Yards, originally from an Andolian/Unadorned design.
- Primary users: Confederation Military
- Civilian availability: None.
- Damage vector: Coherent EM (X-ray spectrum)
- Secondary damage effects: Ionization of target material
- Badass factor: Drinks your milkshake. This is an X-ray laser. You could call it a death-ray. You wouldn't be that far off. It dwarfs strike craft, and makes a nice dueling weapon - for capital ships. If you happen to get hit by this while in a strike craft, you probably won't live long enough to appreciate that you weren't the intended target.
- Ammunition: None. Dedicated reactor.
- Mount type(s): Full custom heavy-capital mounts. Emitter cannot be turreted independently of the generator.
- Variants/upgrades:
- Notes: Poor interactions with Earth-like atmospheres (downshifting of X-rays).
- Sales text: The X-ray spectrum and lasers are notoriously unfriendly to being combined. That xasers exist at all just goes to show that some relationships can be made to work if there's enough money in it for everyone else involved. Used properly, one can use a Xaser to figure out what the inside of an enemy vessel looks like. The crew, however, tends to cease to have insides at about the same time.

- Visual description:
- TraceLaser
- Targeting assistance laser
- Manufacturer: Several weapons manufacturers operating under license for an originally design by HearthKeeper Industries (Purist)
- Primary users: Craft with many mount points (thus having one to spare), or missile-centric designs.
- Civilian availability: Ubiquitous. Can be purchased anywhere
- Damage vector: None. Too weak to do physical damage.
- Secondary damage effects: Lights up target across several points in the spectrum, increasing the sensor profile of the targeted craft.
- Badass factor: Negligible. While knowing that someone has given up a weapon slot to mount a targeting aid may make you worry about what else they're targeting you with, being hit with a laser pointer isn't cause for immediate alarm.
- Ammunition: None. Reactor fed
- Mount type(s): Modular, ultralight-external (device is small enough that separating emitter and generator is nonsensical, and entire array can be turreted even on the smallest of vessels)
- Variants/upgrades: Many. Manufacturers like to tweak the basic design, shifting weights among spectrum points or adding altogether new laser elements.
- Notes: A collection of the world's largest laser pointers, and looks like one.

- Man-portable laser platform
- Manufacturer: Xin Harbin Arms (LIHW)
- Primary users: Space Marines, boarding pods, EVA pods, escape pods
- Civilian availability: Ubiquitous
- Damage vector: Coherent EM (Visible spectrum)
- Secondary damage effects: Can be used in original signaling mode to contact friendly craft. Permanently damages optical receivers.
- Badass factor: In a boarding action, high. In ship-to-ship combat, laughable.
- Ammunition: If mounted, none (reactor fed). If hand-held, consumes fuel cells, or powered by personal pile.
- Mount type(s): Modular - ultra-light. Otherwise built-in, or hand-held.
