- Arc Device
- Manufacturer: Various
- Primary users: Security drones, pirates
- Civilian availability: Common
- Damage vector: Electrical charge
- Secondary damage effects: Sensor degradation, mild system degradation. Chance of same for firing ship, depending on range.
- Badass factor: For the weapon itself, low, for managing to use it properly, medium. This is an extremely cheap weapon with low range and narrow application. That said, it'll still fry a ships electronics if used properly. Used improperly, it'll fry your own electronics too.
- Ammunition: Reactor fed
- Mount type(s): Modular, strike medium
- Variants/upgrades: TBA
- Notes: Can be considered as a type of particle beam.
- Sales text: "They're only electrons Mary!"
- Approximate size: 10x2.5.2.5
- Visual description: Linear particle accelerator (sort of a giant, over-sized CRT)
- Crippler
- Manufacturer: HearthKeeper Industries
- Primary users: Domestic security forces, Confederation Homeland Security forces (HearthKeeper Industries is one of the primary suppliers for the Confederation Homeland Security forces, as well as for the Purist military)
- Civilian availability: Common, some ammunition types more restricted.
- Damage vector: Coherent EM
- Secondary damage effects: Radiator damage / coolant leaks
- Badass factor: Low. Taking out another ship with a Crippler is a lot like shooting at a car's tires with a .22 bolt-action rifle until they are eventually all flat.
- Ammunition: Low-yield, single fire laser cluster warheads
- Mount type(s): Modular, strike medium
- Variants/upgrades: Multiple ammunition types trade off expense of warhead, number of lasing rods, and power of each lasing rod.
- Notes: Works by firing many small lasers which, while unlikely to cause significant damage to any armored portion of a vessel, are sufficient to poke holes in any civilian radiator surfaces.
- Sales text:
- Approximate size: Crippler warheads are comparatively fragile, large, and have a low exit velocity. As such a squat but shortish (8x2.5x2.5) weapon suffices to fire them.
- Visual description: Looks much like most other low-velocity projectile launchers.
- La Brea Constrictor
- Manufacturer: La Brea Security Enterprises
- Primary users: Bounty hunters (live bounty), security forces
- Civilian availability: Common
- Damage vector: Negligible
- Secondary damage effects: Hyper-adhesive with poor thermal conductivity. Adheres to radiator surfaces and reduces efficiency, strangling heat exchangers.
- Badass factor: Medium. Difficult to use, and not clearly the most effective tool for most jobs, but utterly humiliates your enemies when deployed to full potential.
- Ammunition: Liquid trinary adhesive compounds.
- Mount type(s): Modular, light
- Variants/upgrades:
- Notes:
- Sales text:
- Approximate size: The weapon proper is very small, a mere 3 meters of spray accelerator, and quite heat efficient. However, the tanks containing the chemical compounds bring the total weapon space up to 7x2x2 - maxing out the internal portions of a light strike-modular mount point
- Visual description: The sprayer is almost lost within the tanks containing each part of the trinary compound, peeking out only at the far tip of the weapon.
